What carbon footprint are we leaving for our children? That is a common question all of us should answer. And at Cottrell we are pleased to say that we take every measure to not only reduce our footprint, but have a positive effect on the environment. Here is a list of some of the efforts we are proud of:
Our Production Efforts Include:
- We are proud to be Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved by the Regional Affiliate Group.
- Purchasing enough energy through Wind Power from Xcel Energy to run all of our production equipment
- Use of Computer-to-Plate Technology and a Digital Proofing system
- Use of process-less plate technology, which eliminates almost all waste-water contamination
- Recycling of all aluminum press plates – enough to be equivalent to 91 barrels of oil in energy annually
- We use a sophisticated evaporative cooling system in the entire production area, which greatly reduces energy use compared to the traditional HVAC systems
- Our lighting throughout the building uses energy efficient 277V
Our Commitment to Social Responsibility:
- Our team of employees enjoy a state-of-the-art workplace located in Centennial, CO
- Many of our employees live in the surrounding neighborhoods allowing for an easy commute to work
- Located within a mile of a Light-Rail station, several of our employees opt to take mass transit to-and-from work everyday
- Our employees volunteer hundreds of hours every year to local charity events in our community
- We are proud sponsors of several nonprofit organizations which help children and promote the overall wellness of building a stronger community
